NAMED 'BEST DRESSED EYES' San Jose News 3/16/76 Rock singer Elton John and Olympic figure skating gold medalist Dorothy Hamill head the list of "Best Dressed Eyes of 1976" as chosen in a national survey by American optical manufacturers. The two stars, plus either other celebrities in the entertainment and government field were selected for using eyewear not only to correct their vision but to complement their personality and lifestyle. In naming John as "optic man of the year" the Optical Manufacturers Association said "he has done more for eyewear than any single personality in recent years." The superstar has a wardrobe of 200 pairs of glasses valued at $40,000. Others on the list were: Robert Redford, Donald Rumsfeld, Telly Savalas, Billy Jean King, John Denver, Bill Cosby, Ella T.
