He was a healthy influence on the rest of us. And he left behind this beautiful legacy of songs." Track Listing: 1. "Leaving On A Jet Plane" 2. "Take Me Home, Country Roads" 3. Jop, Judith and Robin, group members, sung John's song in an upbeat fashion perfect for any type of dancing, especially line dancing. If you want to hear their version of John's song, "Take Me Home, Country Roads", and learn more about the band, check out their website http://www.hermeshouseband.com ======================================= J O H N D E N V E R N O T E S ======================================= Barbara Ofenstein < wanderingsoul@warpdriveonline.com > I watched the August 5th David Letterman Show. A writer named Gerard Mulligan was the first guest. He has been a writer on the Letterman show for 25 years. This was his last night on the show as he is retiring. Dave and Gerard talked for awhile about their years together, then Dave said he had put a montage together of Gerry's appearances on the show. The next thing I hear is John Denver singing "Looking For Space" as background for the montage. The lyrics were so appropriate for someone retiring. Another John Denver moment when I least expected it! Hope others got to see it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - John Denver Music to be Featured on the Mountain Folk Radio Show each and every Sunday until September 17, 2004. This present season's dear to me Despite its "Sticky Summer Weather." It finds me "On the Road" again Driving past fields of lavender heather. Summertime's freedom to "Fly Away" - Post a sign that reads "Gone Fishin'" Satisfying innate yearnings and "Druthers" During the long Winter's waitin' and wishin' For "Sunshine on My Shoulders" Provides a "Rocky Mountain High" While somewhere "Cool an' Green an' Shady" Gives refuge from a hazy Summer sky. To me the waning Summer season Is most reminiscent of JD, For "if it were mine to make a change, I think I'd let (them) be But I don't remember hearing anybody asking me." __________________________________________________ c 2004 by Carole Romanowski < whispjesse@aol.com > * * * * Filling My Senses by Cynthia Gullage I see him in the colours of a rainbow Stretched across the sky. I feel him in the soft and gentle Breezes passing by. I hear him in the music Of a river running free. And I dream that he is here On Earth, with you and me. I see him in the glimmer Of the North star's constant light. I feel him in a raindrop's kiss On dark and windy nights. I hear him in the birds that sing To resurrect the day. And I wish, with all my heart, He was not called away. I see him as a beacon To light lost sailors home. I feel that he is close at hand, No matter where I roam. I hear him in the waves that crash On near and distant sands. And I believe that he has found His own PEACE, in God's hands.
