He also broke a record at Radio City for most pieces (CDs/Cassettes) sold at a venue. THE WILDLIFE CONCERT, shown on A&E on June 18th & 22nd is now available on CD, Cassette and Video! ================================================= JOHN DENVER IS TOURING THE UNITED STATES & EUROPE ================================================= For the latest concert schedule write to emily@sky.net and ask for concert.txt (latest U.S. Schedule) or europe.txt (latest European Schedule) New concerts have been added in Wallingford, CT (Sept 8), Boston, MA (Sept 9) and Buffalo, NY (Sept. 10). This information is also available on the WWW page at http://www.sky.net/~emily =========================== JOHN DENVER ON TELEVISION =========================== Some of the scheduled tv appearances did not happen as scheduled. John was bumped from the Larry King Live show and the Today Show appearance was put back a day or two. He also appeared on the "David Letterman Show" without any prior announcement at all. He did a parody to the tune of "Rocky Mountain High" and James Lee posted the lyrics he sang on alt.fan.john-denver: "It's the David Letterman "Supermarket Finds" A bunch of products that you would never buy Held up to the camera by some creepy gap-toothed guy "Supermarket Finds", on the Late Show "Supermarket Finds", Colorado What a waste of time, on the Late Show Ooh ee ooh..." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TODAY SHOW: On the "Today Show" John sang Annie's Song. They didn't take any time to talk to him at all. There were just a few words exchanged before he sang the song. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Report on John's QVC TV Appearances from Steve Holland: The appearances were 30 minutes long, and they consisted of John sitting, sipping coffee and talking to the host, answering basic questions and taking a few phone calls from very complimentary fans. The products offered for sale included the Wildlife Concert CD, the WIldlife concert video, a JD Plant-It baseball cap, and two JD T-shirts (one light and one dark); these are all the same as being sold at concerts, I presume. - - - - - - - - - WILDLIFE CONCERT - on A&E Of course, the one scheduled tv appearance that did come off perfectly was John's WIldlife Concert. For anyone who missed it, the videotape of it is available at video stores. It appears to be exactly the same as the A&E concert. By mail, there is an enhanced version of the concert that contains additional concert performances and interviews with some of the fans in attendance. They have re-mixed the origional master tapes of some of John's finest ever recordings, and have done an excellent job of it. A seasoned listener of John's music can tell the differences in the recordings compared to the originals. In some cuts, subtle little things have been added. I think it's an excellent investment for the collecter, especially, and for anyone interrested in a "real good" John Denver anthology. List of songs includes: Disc One: 1.Annie's Song 2. Leaving on a Jet Plane 3. Goodbye Again 4. I'm Sorry 5. Follow Me 6. My Sweet Lady 7. Seasons of the Heart 8. How Can I Leave You Again 9. Fly Away 10. Shanghai Breezes 11. Dreamland Express 12. Back Home Again 13. Poems, Prayers and Promises 14. Thank God I'm a Country Boy 15. Grandma's Feather Bed 16. Matthew Disc Two: 1. Rocky Mountain High 2. Take Me Home, Country Roads 3. Wild Montana Skies 4. Eclipse 5. Like a Sad Song 6. Some Days are Diamonds 7. Heart to Heart 8. Sweet Surrender (live) 9. Looking for Space 10. Calypso 11. On the Wings of a Dream 12. What One Man Can Do 13. Perhaps Love 14. Sunshine on my Shoulders Pick it up; I, highly, recommend it! Can you be so near your end to never again be free? Do you see the horror known as man The killers of your young? Can you understand their master plan to leave your song unsung? Does the mournful song you sing? tell of sorrow and of pain Do you wonder why man will bring the end of your long reign? Do you yearn for better days where you can live in peace?
