She sent me one of his CD's "Open Spaces." I was hooked by the first track, "A Place Called Home." My Mom, who was also listening to the cd said, "It sounds like home." Exactly! That song took me right back to my childhood days in St. John's, Newfoundland. Steve has what I would term a gentle sound, yet lush, evocative, and romantic. His music takes one to far away places and "Back Home Again." Steve has written and performs two tribute songs to John Denver... "On Angel's Wings" from the cd "The Best of Steve Brook", and "Shooting Stars", from his latest cd "The Wolf In Us All." To hear a segment of each of these songs, please visit Steve's web site www.stevebrook.com . You won't be disappointed. I advise you to have your tissues handy. Steve is also a talented artist and photographer. Again, you may view his work, read about his devotion to John, and learn of his background, by visiting his web site. For the first time, Steve will be going to Aspen this year, and will be giving a concert at the Mountain Chalet on October 10th. For those of you going, please have a listen to the songs of an extremely talented man. my only regret is that I won't be there to hear him sing in person. Good luck Steve, and peace go with you. Here is the Chris Westfall sound! People have been amazed by Christopher's voice for many years, and this cd is a showcase of songs by this well-loved performer. People have been touched by the words and the catchy tunes: "We'll Be There by Morning", "When You Love Someone", "Down the Road", "Waking of the Day" and have been moved by the title song "I'm Coming Home." Recorded in Nashville, Christopher is backed by Chris Nole, Pete Huttlinger, and Jim Horn, with Chris Nole producing the album. What a together sound for all time. Other favorite songs written by the other songwriters include: "Lighthouse on the Shore", "Running River", "Summer of My Dreams", and "Gandhi/Buddha." The cd contains two special songs by Chris Nole: "Appreciate" and "You're the Reason." People who enjoy John Denver music will smile hearing "Annie's Other Song." You'll see a smiling face You know he'd never leave us Without a single trace. Listen to the ocean. You'll hear his voice once more, In places yet familiar, And on far distant shores. See the star that's shooting 'Cross inky skies o'erhead. His Spirit fills the Heavens, A downy cloud his bed. Watch the mighty eagle Soar in the blue above He's come back as he promised, In friendship, and with love. Look inside a moonbeam You'll see a laughing face.
