They were married in 1996 in Aspen, Colorado and went to New Zealand on their honeymoon. Lake Wanaka is a naturalist's dream - a hidden paradise in the grandeur of the mountains. It is one hour away from Queenstown. The Southern Alps are home to winter ski fields and the Mount Aspiring National Park. Mount Aspiring stands at 3,027 metres. Within the park is the Rob Roy Glacier, a massive glacier beginning high above on Rob Roy Peak. The Cardrona and Trable Cone are downhill ski fields in the area and there is Nordic skiing at the Snow Farm. The lake is the 4th largest in New Zealand. Walking and bridle trails are abundant and there are outdoor adventures to be had in all seasons in this picture-perfect area. It's no wonder they chose this beautiful area in which to settle. It has been five years since Chris has entertained us during Aspen-In-October. This promises to be one terrific concert and it is expected to sell out. Chris has been performing since he was 15 years old for those who love John Denver's music and he has moved so many with that fire behind his strong pure unique voice. Chris has wowed and mesmerized audiences from both sides of the country with original songs as well, and recently, his songs have been heard on the radio. Christopher's music has been heard from Bangor, ME; Greensboro, NC; Roanoke VA; Knoxville, TN; Deerfield Beach, FL; to Boston, MA and the list is growing. How cool is that! Please call and ask your local radio station to play Chris Westfall. It's super great when someone with an incredible voice is inspired by John Denver and carries on an awesome rich and moving, song-writing tradition. Most of you know that like John, Chris is not only highly skilled on his guitars but will sit at a piano or keyboard and belt out a terrific song straight from the heart. Christopher's album, "I'm Coming Home" produced by Chris Nole, was released last year to rave reviews. Christopher will return to Nashville this month, and will begin recording a new album with Chris Nole and his music friends. Check out the voice and the music: http://www.chriswestfall.com Stay tuned, and request that your favorite station play Christopher Westfall. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Bald Eagle Delisted" by Carole Romanowski < whispjesse@aol.com > On June 28, 2007 the Interior Department announced that it is removing the American bald eagle from the protection of the Endangered Species Act, according to an article in the Journal News, my daily local newspaper. There are at least 10,000 mating pairs of bald eagles - at least one pair in each of the 48 states - compared to only 417 mating pairs in these states in 1963. John Kostyack of the National Wildlife Federation called the eagle's recovery "truly one of America's great wildlife success stories." I think I can accurately state John Denver would be so pleased! Earlier this year, a Federal court directed the Interior Department to stop mulling over what to do about the bald eagles for 8 years since government biologists concluded its' recovery was successful. Conversely today's announcement came about from legal actions by a Minnesota man complaining government delays kept him from developing 7 acres that included an eagle's nest. Damien Schiff, attorney for Pacific Legal Foundation representing the developer, said the "delisting" is "a victory for property owners." However, he worries another eagle protection plan using yet another law will still be too restrictive. Conservationists called the eagle's recovery a vindication of the 1973 Endangered Species Act, which is under attack from property rights and business groups. Environmentalists worry that changes in implementing the law will make it harder to keep plants and animals from disappearing, especially since they lack the national symbolism of the bald eagle. What happens now, we will see. For I'm sure John Denver - like me - is so happy about the eagle's thriving but, at the same time, there is concern property owners and developers will now interfere with the eagle's safety and habitats, therefore jeopardizing its' four-decade struggle for recovery. - - - - - - - - - RMH Eagle Page http://www.rockymtnhigh.org/eagle.html ======================================= J O H N D E N V E R N O T E S ======================================= Jerry Kooyman website with photos of the concert by Steve Brook and Guido Bos on July 7, 2007 http://www.jerrykooyman.com/prive/stevebrook/ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Video clip of Nickels and Dimes performing at Walton on the Hill in the UK: http://www.tenbrug/nl/JohnDenver - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There is a NEW Windstar-FoxFireConnection Site - (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia) at http://www.WindstarFoxFireConnection.Org - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Steve Kern < stevekern@earthlink.net > Good Day Friends, Spread the news! Tell your friends! Steve Kern is still alive! My death has been greatly exaggerated. I thought you may like this. On YouTube.com there is a video called "Tragic Deaths of Rock Stars." The person who made this film put about 16 minutes of many great stars and their passing age and cause of death. All this was nice, until just after John Lennon there is John Denver. Well, the person placed my photo there instead of John Denver's photo, by mistake. When contacted he said it was the best picture of John Denver he could find. Pretty funny. He has also said he will leave it as it is and not make any changes. It is quite an honor.
