Stranded in the Rocky Mountains in 1850, young Jacob McKay and his family face uncertain survival. Helped by a Sioux medicine man and a mountain man they learn about Indians, outlaws and Walking Thunder, the giant bear the Sioux call the spirit of the earth. The family's encounters with this awesome creature change their lives forever.

Starring: James Reed, David Thom, John Denver and Chief Ted Thin Elk The movie is narrated by Brian Keith and was awarded the prestigious "Worldfest" Silver Award.
